Insurance & Patient Co-payments
We are happy to help you understand your insurance policy and what services will be covered, including co-payments. For us to assist you with this, we ask that New Patients submit their insurance information at least two business days before your scheduled appointment. This allows our front office staff the time to contact your insurance company and obtain all necessary information. Additionally, if available, you will want to bring a dental benefit book that your carrier provides. Our business team is happy to help you understand your policy.
If treatment services have been determined, we are able to provide you with a detailed plan including estimated costs, costs that we expect your insurance company to cover and costs that will be expected of you. We ask that you remember that though we are happy to work with your insurance company, they are not financially obligated to us, you are. At times, Insurance companies have denied claims for various reasons, it is ultimately your responsibility to fulfill payment obligations with our dentists, Dr. Oneacre and Dr. Shillingburg. Payment is expected at the time of service. Our professional care is provided to you, the patient, and not to an insurance company. The patient is responsible to the doctor. We will assist you every way we can in filing your dental or medical claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
At DFW Oral Surgeons, our financial policy has been set to reduce costs to you, while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we ask that you are respectful of our policy which is as follows:
Appointments & Consultations
If requested, we are happy to schedule a second-opinion consultation with our doctors to discuss treatment diagnosed for you. We want our patients to feel comfortable and committed fully to a recommended course of treatment. We make every effort to provide all available information on the types of treatment completed at DFW Oral Surgeons, as well as options to make your appointments comfortable.
All patients that are referred to our office from another practice, or who have self-referred themselves for a second opinion are required to undergo a complete examination by our doctors before they provide their diagnosis opinion. Please ensure that all available x-rays and chart notes from your prior office have been transferred to us prior to the scheduled appointment for review. Please note that many offices require 7 – 14 business days to transfer records.
It is imperative that we have all available dental (and medical if related to trauma or medically diagnosed disorder) insurance information in a timely manner, as we will be providing you with a comprehensive treatment estimate after your consultation with the doctor.
