What to Expect on Your first Visit

Prior to your surgery appointment, you will have a pre-surgical consultation. Although you may have been referred by your dentist for a specific surgical procedure, like a dental implant or a tooth extraction, our surgeons and staff need to meet you before your surgical procedure to ensure you are medically and financially prepared for your surgery.

We hope the information below will help prepare you for your first visit.

•  Please plan to be in our office for approximately 1 to 1 ½
•  hours. This includes time to complete your new patient registration, xray acquisition, and examination.
•  Please bring both your medical and dental insurance cards. Certain oral surgery procedures may be covered under your medical insurance. Please note, your insurance benefits are determined by the plan purchased by you or your employer, not our office.
•  We ask that you pay for your pre-surgical appointment at the time of service. Our insurance coordinators will file the visit to your insurance company, letting them know you have paid the claim. You may receive money back from that visit, depending on your benefits.
•  Prior to your surgery appointment, our insurance coordinators will verify your benefits and let you know what your insurance company will help cover toward the cost of your surgery.
•  We will take a panoramic xray in our office at your first appointment. Our imaging system is digital, and produces an image that allows the doctor to see your anatomy in greater detail. It will be projected on our high-definition screens during your evaluation and surgery appointments. This digital copy will also be sent with your claim when we file your insurance.
•  If you have had a panoramic xray taken within the last 12 months, we will not charge you or your insurance company for the xray taken in our office.
•  During your time with the surgeon, he will examine you, review your medical history, discuss your anesthesia options and determine a treatment plan. For more complex cases, our doctors may need to review your case with your dentist before presenting a treatment plan.
•  If you have any questions before your appointment, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

We look forward to meeting you!
