COVID-19 Update

Even before COVID-19, our team has always taken health and safety very seriously. We believe having a clean and sanitary office environment is essential in providing excellent dental care. As health regulations continue to change and adapt, we are committed to adapting alongside them. At DFW Oral Surgeons, you can rest assured that your safety is our top priority.

How Do You Keep Your Office Clean?

We are always cleaning. After every patient, we clean all surfaces and objects they may have touched or used, including countertops, pens, chairs, etc. We do this throughout the office.

Our team always wears an assortment of personal protective equipment (PPE). This PPE includes face masks, face shields, gloves, etc. We also ask that all patients wear a face mask when coming into or leaving our office. To ensure the air is fresh and clean, we double-purify our practice with high-quality HEPA fan filter units. Each of our four operatories has a HEPA unit. The operatories are also positive-pressure rooms, meaning no contaminated air will come in from the surrounding areas.

At our practice, we strive to remain up-to-date with all Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and American Dental Association (ADA) suggestions and regulations. Additionally, we always use EPA-registered disinfectant to ensure no contaminants slip through the cracks.

How Do You Sterilize Dental Equipment?

At DFW Oral Surgeons, we try to use disposable tools and materials whenever possible. Disposable materials include toothbrushes, floss, gauze, gloves, etc. Throwing away these items reduces the risk of cross-contamination and helps us keep our space as clean as possible.

Unfortunately, some dental instruments cannot be thrown away after use. Most of our surgical tools are non-disposable and have to be carefully sanitized before use. We use two types of cleaners – heat and chemical. For heat sterilization, we will place equipment into an autoclave machine. This machine uses a combination of pressure and high temperatures to kill contaminants. In addition to this method, we will also clean dental instruments with chemical cleaners. By using both of these methods, we can ensure our equipment is completely clean before each use.

What Are Your Check-In Policies?

To protect our team and patients, we ask that you do not come to our office if you feel unwell. Call us before your appointment if you have come into contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can include, but are not limited to:

  • Fever
  • Trouble breathing
  • Loss of smell or taste
  • Shakiness
  • Flu-like symptoms

We ask that all patients wear masks while they are inside our practice.
